Posted on Tue, 4 Jul 2017
Question: hi, I am 34 years old, 26 weeks pregnant with my second child. I would like to know if there is any specific diet and Ayurvedic medicines I can have now and after delivery. Heard that medicines containing shatavari helps in increasing breastmilk supply. If it is true, could you please suggest some medicines? When I was breastfeeding my first child, I had problems with breast milk supply. So I am more worried this time.

Dear
Thanks for reverting back

1 Shatavri + ghee preparation:

. atiras XXXXXXX ghrita [given best results, since major part is of shatavari]
. XXXXXXX ghrita
. phala ghrita [not phal XXXXXXX ghrita]

2. balanta kadha is to be administered post delievery:
. balanta kadha 1: from time of delivery to first 10 days
. balanta kadha 2: from 11th day to 20th day
. balanta kadha 3: from 21st day to 60th day

3. balanta kadha itself contains shatavari [2.95 mg per 5ml in 450ml bottle] so can be used safely.
