Suggest Better Medications For Gonococcal Infection

Question: I infected by gonorrhea and due to allergy for the antibiotics injection my doctor replace it by two antibiotics tablets ciprofloxacin 500 mg and doxycycline monohydrate 100mg

I need your advice, do u think this will work as he said the bacteria enter blood stream now...

Gonococci entering the bloodstream is gonococcal bacteremia.
According to CDC guidelines there are Recommended parenteral regimen as well as Alternative parenteral regimens. Oral regimen is also there. In gonococcal bacteremia oral therapy should be initiated 24 to 48 hours after the patient begins to improve and should continue for at least one week.

Overall decision of treating physician should be followed and Patients with suspected disseminated gonococcal infection should be hospitalized.
