Suggest Creams For Hand Foot And Mouth Disease On Buttocks

Question: My grandaughter has just had hand foot and mouth. She has been left with a very sore bottom it is very red and raised she is 20 months old. What cream would be good to apply or should we take her to the doctor. Many thanks XXXXXXX

Hi,

Hand food mouth is fairly common and benign viral infection. You can apply soothing lotion like dermocal over her rash over gluteal area. The rash usually takes 7-8 days to heal. But it heals without leaving any mark behind. So don't be concerned. Give her lots of water.
