detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Eating a healthy ,balanced diet is very important for every one but this is more important in people with Hepatitis C.
Diet can have a great effect in the way that out body manages the hepatitis C infection.
An appropriate diet can help to boost the immune system and can provide the necessary nutrients to help the liver to regenerate new cells.
It is important to eat a well balanced diet and to eat a variety of foods all of the basic food groups :carbohydrates, proteins, fats .
Carbohydrates : Avoid sugar and unrefined carbohydrates.Avoid white rice, bread, pasta or flour.Instead chose fiber rich foods like wholegrain bread,
high fibre cereal, brown rice and whole meal pasta.
Avoid fruit juices that has been added sugar, sweetened energy drinks.
-Eat a lot of vegetables (5 serves a day) and fruits 2-3 servings each day.
Chose a wide variety of vegetables :carrot, potato, leafy greens like spinach ,lettuce, or broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, zucchini .
Legumes are a great source of proteins like beans, peas etc.
-Dairy products are also very important for your diet. They are a good source of calcium ,vit B12 ,proteins.Chose low-fat variants of milk, cheese ,yoghurt .
-Proteins : the daily recommended dose is 1-2 servings a day.
Chose lean mean (beef, lamb, pork, chicken) and fish.
Nuts and seeds are also a good source of proteins.
You should avoid saturated fats ,which is found in fatty meat, butter, full-fat milk products, processed foods.
Instead of these chose healthy fats like olive oil ,canola oils, sunflower oil etc.
-Reducing salt intake is recommendable .This is even more necessary in people with Hepatitis C.
There is a strong correlation between salt intake and high blood pressure.
I would suggest to select low salt varieties of foods.
Another important thing is to avoid alcohol completely or drink it in very moderate amounts if your liver condition allows it.
You should small frequent meals instead of three major meals and make sure to drink plenty of water during the day.
Regarding hypothyroidism ,there is no specific diet or specific foods that you should eat or not.Just make sure to take the thyroid hormone replacement (Synthroid) ,preferably with an empty stomach.
Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubts to clarify.I would be happy to help.
