
Suggest Diet Plan For Gestational Diabetes During Pregnancy

Question: Need diet advice for gestational diabetes for my wife 7 months pregnant. Fasting 90mg/dl and pp 147mg/dl. She needs to control her sugar.

She can have Guava , citrus fruits like orange , Malta
She should take small divided portions of food during meal time.

Thanks Doctor. Can you suggest a diet chart for break fast, lunch and dinner. She is finding it difficult to understand on what food to take during pregency.

Restrictions and strict diet schedule will make her disinterested in the long run after 2-3 weeks which is not good.
Ask her to have good amount of pulses, paneer and curd.
Salads and fresh fruits will be very good.
Ample amount of water and milk daily.
In case she eats non veg then egg, chicken and meat are very good.
