Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Mr XXXXXXX
I do understand your concern about the right diet to be given during pregnancy to prevent / aggravate GERD.
I would advise the following which will definitely help as has helped many of my patients
1. Good diet habits: Regular intake of meals. Small quantity frequent meals is preferable. Three large meals a day causes sudden distension of stomach and may induce reflux. Its advisable to split the meals into 6. Let there be fixed time for eating and in between whenever she is hungry she can have small snacks.
I would suggest the following
* Adequate water intake: Water if consumed along with food may provoke reflux. Follow rule of 1: 1 glass of water 1 hour before and 1 glass of water 1 hour after meals will ensure adequate intake of water which is very much essential especially during pregnancy. It will also not affect nutrition.
* Avoid following: Spicy , Oily food, Legumes like dhal, Caffeinated beverages/carbonated beverages. Avoid junk food like chips, popcorn, chocolates, pizza and Burgers, cheese, Butter.
* High fiber diet: 2 servings of Vegetable salad a day
* Fruits: Two servings of fruits preferable one should be a citrus fruit. Avoid juices(they do not contain fiber and any liquid food will provoke reflux).
I hope this helped.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Wishing you a happy Parenthood.
