Suggest Dosage For Gabapentin And Flexeril

Question: I take flexeril and Gabbapentin . In a bad fibromyalgia flare . was wondering if 30 mg of flexeril with 600 Gabbapentin to much . I have a pinch nerve in my on the flare side . I so much pain

Gabapentin can be dosed as high as 2000-3000mg daily, so you are not taking too much gabapentin. Flexeril is dosed at a maximum of 30mg daily, so again, this is an appropriate dose. These medications are often used together for pain control, and do not interact in a dangerous way. This is a good combination of medications to treat your pain.

I talk with you last night my neck .still hurting if taking that much Gabbapentin going to make me tired . I take zanniflex in day time 4 mg when I have a flare but not release ing it

Hi Michele,

I'm sorry your neck is still hurting this morning. I would talk with your doctor about increasing your gabapentin dosage. Typically it will not make people too tired. Zanaflex will help, as will Flexeril. Sometimes SNRI antidepressants such as Effexor or Cymbalta are useful in fibromyalgia as well. Massages are also useful. If you have a pinched nerve, this may require surgery to fix.
