Suggest Dosage For Mupirocin
Question: Hello Dr. Kakkar, I wanted to follow up on my previous consultation. I have been using Mupirocin 2% twice a day for about a week now. I think it is improving, slightly, but it is difficult to be sure. Does it look improved to you compared to the last pictures? Do you recommend I continue using the Mupirocin, and if so, for how long? How much longer do you think it will take to fully heal? Why do you think it is taking so long to heal? Thank you, I appreciate your time.
Brief Answer:
Kindly upload a fresh image
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing back to me
I have not recieved any recent Images. Kindly try and upload again.
I think it should have resolved in a week or 10 days. The better option would have been to use a combination cream/ ointment containing of mupirocin + topical steroid e.g mupirocin + triamcinolone acetonide ointment, as suggested in my previous reply to you. Steroid component would take care of the underlying inflammation.

Brief Answer:
Steroid+antibiotic formulation
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It looks better than earlier but there is some inflammation that remains.
Therefore I suggest you to use a topical steroid + antibiotic formulation as suggested in my earlier reply. Topical steroid is to settle down inflammation.
