Suggest Dosage For Nitrofurantoin

Question: I recently went to the doctor because i had the need to go to the restroom a lot throughout the day so she gave me medication for a uti it was nitrofurantoin. So its been a week and I still feel the same some days i have to go more than others. The medication was 2 a day until i finish them and there are 60pills. Can this be something else? Or do i have to keep taking the pills?

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have UTI.

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Well I am taking Nitrofurantion right now, do you think I would need something else?

I was able to get a doctor appointment one tuesday its a while til then and i feel like i need to go every hour. Should i go to the er or just wait til my appointment? Also what are the bad warning signs that i should go to the er quic? k

Ok so the doctor prescribed me a different antiboitic cephalexin ita working but now im itchy and i have a burning sensation down below but not when i pee just a random times?
Is this a yeast infections due to the antibiotic?
Can i take something from the drug store? And if so what?
