Question: I have generic pantoprazole 40 mg and want to quit taking it. My doctor won't give me the 20 mg tablets. Can I cut them in half or just start taking every other day?

Brief Answer:
you can cut it right now...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

if you'd like to quit taking pantoprazole you can do so right away! There is no need to gradually reduce the dosage or anything like that. I'm not advising you to do so because I don't know your medical history or even the reason you were taking it. I'm just saying that there is no problem in cutting it cold turkey!

Kind regards!
