Suggest Dosage Of Seroquel, Depot Risperidone And Epilim

Question: I am diagnosed as schizoid type and have had two severe episodes of psychosis that required hospitalisation and medication . I have had several episodes of delusional thoughts before these psychotic eposides . My doctor prior to my last hospitization reduced my meds to just 300mgs of seroquel from a 35 mg depo of risperdal and 300mgs of seroquel . Currently I am on the depo and seroquel and 600mgs of ephilin. Are these doses high as I am keen to get off or reduce my medication to relieve the lack of motivation so as to enable me to lead a fuller life

I can understand your concern. You are on 300 mg Seroquel, 35 mg Depot Risperidone and 600 mg Ephilin. You have schizoid type and had two episodes of psychosis. In my opinion the doses of drugs you are taking are not very high. These doses will help in regaining the lost mood. But as you are taking two antipsychotics (Seroquel, Risperidone) so dose of one can be reduced. Dose of Seroquel can be reduced and this will help to improve the motivation and other negative symptoms. Optimum doses of Risperidone will work and will help in maintaining the symptom free state.

Please discuss with your doctor to reduce the doses of Seroquel gradually. This will surely help you.
