Question: I am trying to identify a pill I find in my travel kit. It could be a substitute for Norco which I am currently out of. This is a question for one night only -- I have a script for Norco to fill tomorrow. But I need meds for bedtime tonight. I find a pill in my travel kit that could be a substitute for Norco. zi

Brief Answer:
tylenol extra strength or paracetamol +/- cetrizine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Norco has two salts in it- hydrocodone and acetaminophen.

You can substitute it with tylenol extra strength or paracetamol upto 650mgs.

There might be some sleeping issue this night (as hydrocodone can give sleepiness to many people). For that you may use cetrizine if you have or any sleeping pill like diazepam or clonazepam or zolpidem..(however I dont think you will have these right now...so, cetrizine can help).

Try to get the tablet next day as sudden hydrocodone withdrawal can cause some pain symptoms as well.

Wish you good luck.
