Brief Answer:
Aleve (naproxen) can be taken as an alternative
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Rather than thrice daily I would recommend ponstan (mefenamic acid) to be taken when needed. However, you can take Aleve (naproxen) as an alternative which can be taken twice or thrice daily, preferably after food.

All are gastric irritants
Detailed Answer:
Naproxen, ibuprofen, mefenamic acid are all gastric irritants and none of them are less risky. However, the gastric irritation of paracetamol or acetaminophen is much less. Two tablets of 500 mg can be taken together for the analgesic dose.
