Suggest Ideal Dosage Of Paracetamol For Infants

Question: My baby is 14 months old and her weight is 8kg. She is having fever from last one day.. i m giving9ml of paracetamol because the paracetamol is contains 125mg /ml.. bt today morning mistakenly i had given 2.5ml.. is there any problem
Brief Answer:
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. The dose given is not harmful. You may skip the next dose for at least 8 hours to avoid side effects.
If you are using paracetamol drops (125/ml), then correct dose for your baby will be 1 ml for fever spikes more than 100 degrees fahrenheit. In case of Syp. Paracetamol (120mg/5ml), you may give 5 ml for spikes. Repeat the dose every 6-8 hours thereafter the fever persists or recurs.
Hopefully this will be of help. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care
