Suggest Medication For An Abnormal Buildup Of Fluid In The Feet

Question: My father facing kidney failure since 3 years. Just want to know to reduce the excess of water in foot Which medicine is best to reduce water. Currently taking tide 20 mg.
Brief Answer:
swelling can be reduced by medicines
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
tide is good medicine to remove water but the most important aspect is where is the water coming from. It is coming from all the liquid intake you have in diet weather it is water, tea, coffee, cucumber, rice ( it has lot of hidden water), fruits.
So basically you should reduce your liquid intake to less than one litre a day and no rice or fruits.
tide dose can be increased to 40mg or even more depending on BP and potassium levels.
So if you take in less and bring out more you will balance the extra water in the body.
best wishes

Thanks sir your valuable information. My Dad sleeping 4 hours in night and then waking him up by 4.00 am , morning after 8.00 am and noon time after 1.00 pm sleeping, near to 3 to 4 hours per day night. kindly suggest sleeping in day night rather than night time good for kidney disease .
Brief Answer:
sleeping is ok
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If your father is not able to complete his sleep at night he will definitly sleep more in the morning.
only issue is that we have to rule out other cause also- we have to judge that by investigations- blood sodium, potassium, calcium, creatinine and TSH (thyroid test)
best wishes
