Suggest Medication For Nose Congestion And Cough

Question: Hello doctor,

I have congested nose from three days. this issue repeats every 6 month. Last december one ent doctor gave attached medicines and i got relief.

Can you Advice better Medicines to get relief from stuffy congested nose. and cough.

Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query, reports and it suggests that you are suffering from the viral rhinitis.

Having this problem once a year is almost common and it may not represent serious disease.

In this condition in our patients, I personally recommend for my patients

1. Tablet Fexofenadine once in the night.
2. Steam inhalation as much as possible.
3. Tablet Cefolac AZ .
4. Local nasal decongestant nasal drops two drops three times a day.

Please consult your doctor before taking these medicines. THese are all prescription medications only and not available over the counter.

Regarding nasal drops, I used such products year back but one ent specialist asked me to stop such usage because it was worsening even more

I have gone through your follow up query; and for your kind information your doctor is absolutely right that regular use of local nasal decongestant more than five days worsened your symptoms but you may safely use this for five days with the interval of six months.
