Suggest Medication For Persistent Runny Nose
Usually with allergies I get headaches/ sinus swelling/ stuffy and sinus pain. This is just a dang drip. It forms that crustiness by the lower nasal tip area. I am an ER nurse. I feel self conscious about my booger/ crusty nose. I could have a Dr look in my nose at work but dang embarrassing. I am afraid my pts can see it! Ick! So conversely before a trauma I tried to pick my nose so the pt couldn't see it... and yup, I gave myself a nose bleed! That was embarrassing too!
For my allergies I have used nasocort before but haven't tried that yet because it seems different?
I am a 51 you woman, 65" tall and 190lb. Allergic to cipro, latex, soy, seasonal things, dust, horses. My only new med in the past 6 months is vaginal estrogen- estring placed in august and removed last week with no change.
Thanks for your advice.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having constant dripping from nose.
Based on your clinical details, it appears to be allergic rhino-sinusitis.
As such, dripping with crusting is a common phenamenon seen in allergic rhintis. In my opinion, tab.singulair (montelukast) with nasocort (Triamcinolone) is enough to control allergic rhinitis. In the presence of sinusitis, antibiotics or sinus surgery is the choices of treatment.
I suggest you to undergo CT scan of para nasal sinuses to locate (anatamoical blockages, pathlogical extensions (polyp) the cause of sinusitis.
In the mean time, continue the same combination (singulair + nasocort spray), stop consuming freezer products (curd/ice cream) and avoid exposure chilled weather and dusty environments.
Kindly discuss with your treating doctor about these instructions and investigations. This can be nagging problem than embarassment infront of your doctor or patients, so do not hesitate.
Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
