Hello,
You are suffering from
ear infection since 6 months. Presently, you are experiencing earache and also loss of hearing. You are suggested to avoid entering into swimming pools to avoid recurrence of ear infection. When bathing be very careful not to let water into your ears. Wax is a common cause of infection and may also cause temporary
hearing loss. Ear infection commonly occurs due to
cold and RTI. Protect yourself from cold, keep warm.
Take food that will keep your body warm like ginger tea, oats meal, red meat, etc. Avoid alcohol. Ear infections can resolve by itself if taken care. Keep ears covered. Dry warm compress may help. Eardrops and pain relievers (
Combiflam. one stat when needed) are helpful. Factors that may damage or lead to loss of
nerve cells in your
inner ear are aging, loud noise. Avoid sleeping on the affected ear.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by an Audiologist to detect if the hearing loss is temporary (infection, wax, etc.) or permanent (perforation-partial / complete), you will be treated (conservative,
hearing aid or surgery) accordingly. Prolonged intake of antibiotics are not recommended as they may cause side effects, adverse effects or may also weaken the immune system's ability to fight off infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
