you are taking the right medication so keep using it, I just want to add one Vitamin C tablet as a recent study has suggested that Vitamin C level decreases in more than 90% of the patients with postherpetic Neuralgia and can be one of the etiological factors.

Lidocaine and capsaicin can also be used topically, these are available both in patch form as well as cream form but personally I would advise such patient to use patch form of these preparations.
