Suggest Medication For Severe Throat Pain, Heaviness In Head And Fever
Question: I have severe throat ache, throat itch, head heavy feeling and fever currently. What medicine is best?

This seems to be viral pharyngitis.
You can take the following medicines:
- Tab brufen 200 mg twice a day for severe throat ache alongwith paracetamol 350 mg for fever. This also comes in combination like combiflam tablets.
- For excessive mucous and itchy throat take chlorpheniramine tablet once daily. If you drive to work then better take tablet cetirizine once daily instead. Cetirizine is less sedative than chlorpheniramine.
- Also take vitamin C (limcee tab)
- Cough lozenges like vicks or even sualin tablets are helpful
- Take warmer fluids
-Gargle with saline water (luke warm) 3-4 times a day
Viral takes a few days to subside. With the above medicine and symptoms will subside sooner.
