Brief Answer:
HIV and Tuberculosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

You have repeated HIV tests at 3 months intervals thrice and all serological tests for HIV have come negative. That indicates you are not having any HIV infection. Actually HIV testing should be repeated twice at 3-month intervals to rule out HIV infection.Your possible exposure to HIV is unfounded. If you have developed tuberculosis ,that has come as a separate infection unrelated to HIV.
Tuberculosis (TB) does not interfere with HIV serological testing. It does not cause any false negative test for HIV. On the contrary levels of plasma HIV RNA increase in the setting of active TB.
However you can go for CD4+ T cell counts. In patients with lower CD4+ T cell
counts, disseminated TB is more common. You have not mentioned what type of tuberculosis you are having.
