Suggest Medication To Help Reduce Tolerance To Adderall
Question: I've been taking 90mgs of adderall daily i started out at 30 mgs once a day but because of continued use grown tolerant to it. is it possible for my tolerance to be lowered down to what it once was and if so will my tolerance come back quicker the next time?
Brief Answer:
It is possible to some extent
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
First of all I like to inform you that tolerance is common phenomenon with use of adderall and it is difficult to revert back in most situations.
Having said this it is not impossible to reduce tolerance. With use of other coping strategies the dose of adderall can be reduced to significant level.
It is true that when the person is subjected to higher dose again, the tolerance sets in early compared to the first time.
I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

do agonist speed up the recovery process
does memantine work to reduce tolerance quicker
does memantine work to reduce tolerance quicker
Brief Answer:
Theoretically yes
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
The role of memantine in tolerance reduction is still under investigation and there are few studies which shown potential usefulness of memantine. Unfortunately there is no conclusive evidence in this regard so it is difficult to say whether it helps in practical experience.
I do not understand what do you meany by "do agonist speed up the recovery process" as the receptor is not specified. I mean to say please clarify which agonist you are talking about as there are multiple receptors in brain and every receptor have agonists and antagonists.
I hope this helps you further.
Thanks again.

If I take a lower dose with a tolerance still build up quickly
Brief Answer:
Yes it is again true but....
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
Although it is true that on subsequent exposure person develops tolerance early but it does not mean tolerance is beyond control.
There is enough evidence to suggest that for the person who takes slightly lower dose than the current requirement there is reversal of tolerance provided it is combined with other non pharmacological strategies such as Yoga, meditation, relaxation.
Considering the above fact I request you to just decrease 5 mg every month and practice meditation. In addition have a self control and never give up. Once you give up all your efforts will be null when it comes to the reversal of tolerance.
I hope this assists you further.
If you have more questions I will be glad to assist you further.
