Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your query and understood that you have anxiety as well as sleep disturbances.

At your age, the sleep quality and quantity has already been decreased. It is the part of ageing. Anxiety can be treated with mild exercises [if physically you are capable of], relaxation exercises like breathing in and out slowly [if you do not have any respiratory problem], doing yoga and meditation helps in improving anxiety. Engaging oneself in one's interest is the best way to decrease the anxiety. If anxiety is related to some stressful event then finding the solution for that would be beneficial.

Sleep can be improved by following the sleep hygiene steps as under:
1. Use bed for sleep only not for other chores
2. A Bath before bed helps sleep initiation
3. Avoid day time naps
4. DO not drink activating drink like tea, coffee after 4 PM.
5. Avoid alcohol and other recreational drugs
6. Listening to soft music or reading a book will be soothing
7. Do mild exercise in the morning
8. Avoid bright light exposure during evening
9. Bed room shouldn't have a TV

There are so many other sleep hygiene steps you can read on the internet.
Drugs will help you but they can sedate you more so there are chances of falls during night.
