Detailed Answer:
Hello
Most of the time cough in this age group is associated with spasm of the airways. Asthalin inhaler helps in relieving the spasm. Linctus helps in controlling the cough as it is a cough suppressant(SHOULD BE AVOIDED IN CHILDREN).
Infection or inflammation of the tonsils is one of the cause of cough in children. Xray neck would have been done by your physician to find the tonsillar inflammation. Mild adenoid hypertrophy is normal for this age,so you need not to be worried about that.
As cough is recurring, I would suggest you to consult your pediatrician for clinical examination of the child. Many a time adding Montelukast, antibiotic or short duration steroid need to be added depending on the severity.
Don't give HH linctus as it should be avoided in children. Piriton CS is a contains antiallergic and is mild suppressant,so I would suggest you to give this instead of Linctus. You can give asthalin puff, piriton cs syrup and nasoclear drop as advised, till the time you visit the pediatrician.
I hope this answers your query.
I will be glad to answer if you have any further query.
