Question: I am on Stalera and have tried naproxen.
I have pain in my central back,
I was wondering if there is any other back medicine for someone with psoriatic arthritis.

I have gone through your history. You have been diagnosed as Psoriatic Arthritis, and currently on Stelara( Ustekinumab).
Naproxen is a good medicine as an anti inflammatory , but not all of these drugs provide same relief in every patient. You can give a try to Indomethacin 75 mg or Eterocoxib 90 mg( after prescription) which are normally recommended in the Arthritis due to Psoriasis or the other variants of it.
But as these medications only give relief to the symptoms, we need to look for the cause of the pain you are experiencing as well. You should consult your Rheumatologist and get an X ray done for the back and if needed an MRI as well. Psoriatic Arthritis can cause back pain due to the formation of Syndemophytes. While you try a different set of anti inflammatory, do look into the cause for it as well

I dont think it is a bony griwth because when i wake up it gets worse and its not there in the morning.
what about something like nortriplyne would that make a diffirence?

Hey i didnt get what you meant here. The statement: "When you wake up, it get s worse but not there in the morning?
As for approaching the pain you are suffering, it is usually due to few causes only. Psoriatic arthritis itself can cause lot of back pain and neck pain which indicates the disease activity. There you will need some Anti inflammatory to stop it and maybe a change in therapy.
The other reason, is mechanical pain which is related to your work posture and just lack of exercises. I wont recommend any strong anti inflammatory for that, as it will eventually fade off.
Once we have ruled out these two, then the pain you are having can be treated with nortyptilline. It is more of a pain modulator than a pain killer. SO before you start that, i would recommend you to rule out the other 2 causes. Cause once you go on nortryptilline, no one will try removing it and any other underlying cause will be missed.
