Suggest Natural Substitute To Help With Benzo Withdrawal
Question: any natural substances that can be used protracted benzo withdrawal
Brief Answer:
I really would NOT recommend it.
Detailed Answer:
In theory Valerian root has two effects that might do some slight effect:
1) it's an antidepressant (but NOT a benzodiazepine)
2) it gums up the liver so that whatever benzodiazepine is there... stays longer, and leaves more gradually.
BUT neither Valerian NOR any others are really well characterized in how reliably they work.
They do not have reliable manufacturing
they do not have a reliable shelf life.
And Benzo withdrawal in the acute (up to 1 week) timeframe is very serious and can potentially lead to even fatal seizures.
I really would NOT recommend it.
