Brief Answer:
Topical 5% acyclovir is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have carefully read your this and your earlier query and understand your concern.

Since you are tested positive for STD and herpes seems equivocal,i advise you to have oral fluconazole one tab 150 mg followed by full oral course of Valacyclovir 1g bid for 5 days.

For Topical coverage ,Acyclovir 5% oit -ZOVIRAX,apply all over the lesions 3rd hourly 6 times/day for 7 days.

Note these drugs should be taken only under strict medical supervision.

The above regimen will be very effective in resolving your symptoms ,since starting full course of antiviral therapy in equivocal cases can be a safer option.

post your further queries,if any

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
viral latency prevention has to be top priority.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

welcome back

Herpetic group of viruses are known for their latency of infection-which means that they can stay in the body/nerves for long time even though your penile lesions are healed.

These latent/hidden virus later relapses and produces more severe lesions.
a full course antiviral therapy irrespective of the stage of healing of the clinical lesion is usually warranted.

Hence i recommended you a full course of antiviral therapy even its an equivocal.
Valacyclovir is relatively a very good drug.

Even persisting pain is a sign of active disease.viral recovery lags lab recovery in case of herpes,

Since you are tested once positive for herpes, its all wise and safe to eliminate the virus completely,as you are young,i personally do not want you to experience relapsed attacks of herpetic virus later in your life under conditions of inadequate treatment.

Now the choice is yours.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Consult a regional health specialist

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir

That's fine XXXXXXX but prescription is not medically valid completely, if the doctor does not see his patient in person at his clinic.

Certain trade names of valacyclovir do not need prescription, you can get them at your local pharmacy.

The other way of getting medically validated prescription is you visiting a regional govt health center and consult a doctor there.

My best wishes to you,
Take care.
Thank you.
