Brief Answer:
pre and post waxing precautions

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your query.
I understand your concern.
Brazilian wax or bikini wax when done for the first time needs some special precautions.
It is a very painful procedure so first time you may require painkillers like ibuprofen before getting it done.
In case you have any skin diseases like Psoriasis or Diabetes Mellitus, you should avoid it. During menstruation and pregnancy, it should be avoided.
While getting it first time, there should be a proper length of the hair.
It should neither be too long nor too short.
If long, they are first trimmed.
It should only be done by an expert person.
Avoid swimming or sun bath for 24 hours post waxing.
Also sex should be avoided for 24 hours post waxing as the area gets sensitive.
An antibiotic cream like mupirocin 2 percent is to be applied over the waxed area to avoid any infection.
These are the usual precautions pre and post waxing that should be followed while getting it done especially for first time.
I hope I am able to solve your query.
Stay healthy.

Someone suggested me to use Candid dusting powder ( or a similar antifungal powder) to avoid infection and reduce friction also. What do you suggest? Should the powder be applied in combination with the Bactroban ointment or any one of them is enough?
Also is it a good idea to do the waxing during monsoon? Though its not humid, does the season have any increased chances of infection?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
apply both bactroban and dusting powder

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome back.
Powder is preferably applied just before doing waxing to avoid pain .
There is no harm in using antifungal powder post waxing also.
In such scenario, the chances of bacterial infection are more.
So I will advise you to use bactroban ointment twice a day. In between you can sprinkle powder also .
Rainy season definitely poses more chances of infection but still you may get it done. The chances of infection are not so much that it should not be done.
You may safely go for it.
Take care
