Question: Hello Doctor,
My wife is pregnant
her menstrual period delayed for 10 days hence we went for upt test resulted positive
could you please suggest me the precautions and diet or any medicine if required at this early stage..
so far she has not felt Vomiting

Precautions in early pregnancy are:
1. Abstinence
2. Restricted physical activity
3. Avoid lifting heavy objects
She should take folic acid tablet daily as taking it in first trimester reduce the chances of congenital anomalies in the fetus.
Diet should be normal, spicy and oily food should be avoided and high protein diet consisting of milk and milk products, pulses and eggs should be included in the diet.
