Question: Allopurinol Stevens-Johnson Syndrome
Brief Answer:
XXXXXXX XXXXXXX syndrome is commonest side effect of Allopurinol.
Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome to HealthcareMagic,
Yes XXXXXXX XXXXXXX syndrome is commonest side effect of Allopurinol. I am glad you are on steroids.
What is your exact condition now?
If you are better and on 20 mg--you should maintain the dose till clear and then gradually taper one tablet a week to prevent relapse.
I did not understand 'second week 20 mg extreme case--could be life threatening'
Is the patient your mother and how is she now?
Please reply so that I can guide you better.
Regards
