Question : funny looking rash, not sure if its a diaper rash or something that needs to addressed by a doctor.



The rash is on his upper thigh close to his buttocks.

I have looked at the attached image and indeed it looks strange to me too. It does not look like nappy rash. But the pattern seems similar to the elastic of a nappy. In that case it could be a case of contact dermatitis. If that is the case, application of calamine lotion should provide relief. Also give him cetirizine. You can try the suggested methods but I think that seeing a doctor is a better idea.

so with the contact dermatitis is that contagious? does that have a fever involved?

Contact dermatitis occurs due to allergic reaction to something it comes in contact with. It is not contagious. Usually fever is not present.
