Suggest Remedies For A Thrombosed Vein On The Penis Post A Surgery

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Sep 2016
Question: I had a degloving surgery for a fractured penis and torn urethra (luckily everything works down there, but there is some pain). It has been almost 11 weeks now and I have a thrombosed vein and what I believe is sharp scar tissue near where the repair took place.

1. Have you performed this procedure before?
2. Are these common side effects?
3. I also have a thrombosed vein now. How can I get rid of this? Could it be there forever?
4. Will the scar tissue get better, worse, or stay the same?
5. How long should I expect to wait until my penis is as recovered healed as it will ever be?

Brief Answer:
Send two photos in erect and side views

Detailed Answer:
Hello Jimbo and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.
After this kind of surgery, recovery period for healing, varies from 3-4 months. But scarring of tissue as you mention, isn't prominent.
It would be good if you send two photos of the penis, in erect and side views.
This would help in giving an expert opinion.
Wish you well.

I just sent you a pic of the vein, that is clumped up and very hard. The scar tissue (which might be sutures) is not visible on a picture, but can not be felt.

What can I do to treat this vein? It is very prominent when I have an erection.

How long until the scar will be less visible? Anything I can do to aide in the healing process with the surgery scar? Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Healing takes it's own time.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Jimbo,

Yes,the picture shows a normal erection, with a partial thrombosed vein.
Don't be conscious about it.

The scar tissue you mention,is hardly visible.
They're neither felt,as you mention.

Nothing to worry about the vein. Just leave it alone.
Anyway,it's not interfering in sexual activities.
Avoid vigorous sex in the next 3-6 months.

Nature/ God does all the healing.
No medical treatment to accelerate that process. Just relax.

Wish you good health.
