Suggest Remedies For A Very Painful Cut In The Right Inner Thigh Fold

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Jun 2016
Question: Hello doctor. I am a 22 year old dental student. I have a really painful cut ( it appears as a break in the epithelial layer - like an ulcer ) in the right inner thigh fold.
Its been more than 15 days.
Last month i used a razor to get rid of pubic hair and after that i have used hair removal cream twice and i feel that i injured the area repeatedly as it was just a lump earlier and now its denuded area which hurts.
I have been applying iodine and band aid but no dramatic results have been shown.
Also peculiarly, the inner thigh fold on my left side has skin peeling off of it but a really really thin layer of it. I thought that info might help in the situation.
Please suggest something for that ulcer or whatever that thing is as it is really uncomfortable. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Traumatic injury to the skin leading to infection..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that a cut on the right inner thigh fold along with pain is due to repeated chemical and physical trauma to the skin in that area caused due to using razor and hair remover..

Secondly as the area of inner thigh fold is more prone to get moisture accumulation, therefore there is a possibility of infection in that area leading to exaggeration of symptoms and pain..

Peeling of skin in left thigh fold can be a normal.process of wear and tear and if there is no other symptoms, you need not to worry about it..

For the right thigh fold start cleaning the area with betadine solution and apply a combination of antibiotic and antifungal ointment..
You can also mix numbing gel containing Lignocaine or apply it separately to relieve pain..
You should do cool compresses over the area..
You should keep the area clean and dry and avoid moisture accumulation..
Wear cotton panties..

It will start improving in a week hopefully..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
