Brief Answer:
Bacterial vaginosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for the question.

A common type of infection of the vagina is called bacterial vaginosis, or BV. It is a discharge with an odor. Sometimes there is burning as well. The other common type of vaginal infection is yeast infections and these are associated with itching.

Of note, the odor from BV is made WORSE after intercourse because of an interaction between semen and the bacteria that cause this odor.

Please ask your doctor for a prescription for either Metronidazole or Clindamycin vaginal cream. I believe that a short course of either will take care of this problem.
