Suggest Remedies For Bronchitis
Too much info!I've also been hospitalized for BOTH Acute bronchitis as well as pneumonia bearing the scarred lungs to prove.
Last month I knew I was experiencing yet another bout of bronchitis. Awakened with the congestion, pressure and associative pain; however this is undoubtedly the 1st that was only on one side? That quickly went to my sternum, (I believe that is the bone that is located directly between breast?)
At that time..the best way to describe the feeling-pain etc.is as if a knife were sticking through my chest straight through to my back. My primary care Dr. called in a total of 3 complete scripts, ( not all at once. Yet without being seen in person. which is why I presume one of the nurses didn't go into my file and perhaps forgetting I had been through the exact same names of these antibiotics the last time for antibiotics'-THAT DIDN"T WORK!. At first, felt as if each were helping, however, I have also found I have a complication. Sorry don't recall the name. It has something to do with the tearing and/or injury to the muscles between my ribs? Most probable from trying to cough up the congestion. I am NOW in a seriously worsened state as I cannot cough-IT"S JUST THAT PAINFUL! When I cannot control it and/or sneeze, this complication that started from sternum to each side of BOTH underarms, under my breasts has now taken control of my back! I am SO frightened! I have inadvertently noticed NOT breathing but very shallow which I know from prior experience can very well lead to fluid of the lungs. Went to the ER-HUGE MISTAKE! Finding the REAL DR> walked in once I was in an exam room then just left-not just the exam room-THE HOSPITAL!! NOW, hours later, wanting to speak to the dr. so frightened only to be told I'm in the hands of RN's and 1 CPA. After all these unprofessional acting people ;some rude, some trying hard -what I left with is absolutely NO answers on top of signing my discharge paperwork by a custodian/janitor person?
By the day, I'm now feeling I have a rope around the SAME aforementioned, only it is increasingly harder to breathe as well as lay down and/or get up. PLEASE HELP ME! I was a smoker. Yes and feel incredibly STUPID despite quitting. Needing some serious educated caring DR. to tell me WHAT TO DO as these hospital people no matter how sweet OR RUDE are trying I would think yet my life is on the line here.
Another thing I'd like to mention is the crisis situation in XXXXXXX today. The people whom are destroying the patient /Dr. trust issues in reference to pain is beyond control.
I've learned NOT to believe all I've read on the internet to be true, yet the situation described between my ribs that is actually MOR painful than a broken rib!,(Had 1 of those too!) I've read pain medication doesn't respond to this type of injury. I beg to differ. Yes I agree, "There IS NO MAGIC PILL", yet in this type of situation, "How on earth can I possibly cough up this ...YUK! when it honestly hurts to breathe!?
Please DO_NOT mistake that statement anything it is not. It's merely the TRUTH. I feel as though my dr is being cheated on with you :-) Yet I am in no shape to wait yet another 2 weeks to find that whatever is going on could very well be permanent and/or lead to even WORSE complications!
One thing I can say for certain its so sad that its actually taken away my youth as wells as taking 1/2 a century to learn-SMOKING IS NOTHING BUT THE DEATH OF ANYONE THAT SMOKES!
I would someday like to turn the trials and tribulations of being alone since 13 and turn my mess of a life into a message!
You my dear; whomever you are. Thank you for taking some time out. I'm so frightened and need your help SO BAD, not only to breathe but for my sanity!
Simply wanting to , "Thank You, whomever may be assisting you. Yes, this is my 1st time trying this method and am far from rich , however,; I've always had the most respect for all doctors in general. Despite the fact I may NEVER be able to see you-Sadly, I'm concerned this internet thing may-NO! I'm not going into anything other than positive metal attitude! WILL LEAVE THAT WITH MY HEALTH ISSUES IN YOUR HANDS.. I must trust you and be transparent if indeed I expect the same from you.
Frightened, and confused...Respectfully~ XXXXXXX
Last insert that may not mean nothing more: I did request my files from that ER visit only to be hung up on?!
Called primary care office and being I have a standing, signed disclosure form-fortunately they were able to retrieve them! If needed, please say the word! I would do my best no how badly I feel to get some educated answers.
Cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH AT THIS POINT! {{HUGS}} P.S-Out of Pure innocent respect for you. Dr's are heroes
Possibility of costochondritis is more likely.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Coughing causes excessive strain on ribs, cartilage and intercostal muscles.
So excessive coughing can cause costochondritis (inflammation) related severe chest pain.
Treatment is simple.
1. Control of coughing.
2. Control of pain
For control of coughing, in your case, inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone) are needed.
For control of pain, application of warm water pad on affected areas, simple painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside are needed.
So don't think too much. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Please let me know
1. Are you taking any inhaler?
2. Are you taking any pain medications?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
I also have serious back issues that are not condusive to surgery for some reason. Only manage the herniated discs, sciatica & so forth through medication.
I must say this: it doesn't seem to respond to pain medicine.
I am frightened as I do have allergies to the strangest things that have also progressively gotten worse with age.
I believe an inhaler has steroid components if not mistaken-if this is the case I would be apprehensive of THAT as well being I've taken 1 dose of prednisone and it sent my heart beating out of my chest! That along with a non-symptomatic heart blockage isn't very smart.
I wish I could reach through and give you a hug. You've given me results I'M STILL TRYING TO Get Something from the ER here! It's just awful to not know for days if not weeks! I am not even close to being wealthy although I have had plenty of XXXXXXX with, My calling", (being a full service Cosmetologist & barber for many years & Miss having my life!) It's highly difficult for people at times to actually ENKOY their job!
I can tell you are highly intelligent and know precisely what you are talking about.
This pain is like being tortured and cannot sleep due to simply turning over.
Gracious, I do so wish we had YOU here in Tallahassee! I'm confident you'd have an abundance of your work.
I cannot thank you enough sir. Despite your inability to see the tests done on me. What you've explained herein is exactly what had been the case LAST YEAR! Upon climbing out of aquatic therapy pool, the ladder was oily. I have lost the feeling in my dominant right arm that I was told may happen way back some 35 yrs ago when hit by a XXXXXXX truck in a 300zx. Anyway, I'm getting carried away now. I won't forget your kindness or compassion. {{BIG_HUGS}} :-)
Not all inhalers have steroid.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Thanks for your kind words.
I am just doing my duty. As a doctor I have to satisfy my patients in every possible way.
Not all inhalers have steroid.
Combination of levosalbutamol and ipratropium bromide (duolin) is very good for bronchitis.
It is not having steroid.
And you never told about sciatica.
Sciatica needs physiotherapy and weight reduction.
So please let me know
1. Have you tried physiotherapy?
2. What is your weight and height?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
