Do not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. Her weight gain is normal for age and infants many a times show such changes in poops and occasional vomiting spells while on complementary feeds. If your baby seems to be too constipated and passes stools in pellet form them you may take following measures to help her:
- Give her extra 1/3 -1/4 cup of water after every feed to maintain good hydration.
- avoid food which lead to Constipation such as bananas, carrots, cheese, rice cereal for a few days.
- give food which help in peristalsis and relieve Constipation. Especially prune/Apple/peach juice, apricots, plums, soaked resins etc.
-Place your baby on her back in front of you. Lift up her legs and move them in a circular motion to mimic the motions of peddling a bicycle. The movement should help to release some abdominal pressure and get things going in the right direction.
- avoid toilet training at present. Most kids are not ready for it at present. 18 months is a better time to start training your baby.
-gentle tummy massage and warm water bath also helps.
-Rectal stimulation can help your baby’s bowels to move. Use Vaseline to lubricate the tip of a rectal thermometer and insert it into your baby’s bottom. Very gently wiggle JUST the tip a few times before removing it. The stimulation will often cause a bowel movement to occur.
If the above measures do not help then use of half tablet of rectal glycerine suppository or syrup lactulose can be considered.
You need to give only vitamin D supplement such as Vitanova D3 (1 ml once daily) to her. Avoid iron supplements as they aggravate Constipation.
Hopefully it will be of help.

as I mentioned in previous mail we are giving polyethylene glycol powder diluted in water. We gave three dose(one scoop), one in night, one very next morning and again night. It resolved constipation for now. But from then her poo is little watery.
May I know if is normal. Also is there any side effects for this powder? How long should I give this powder. Also she seems to be gassy these days. What can i do for that.
Avoid polyethylene glycol
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Polyethylene glycol is associated with side effects such as loose poops, colics ,gassy abdomen etc. Your baby seems to be suffering from the above side effects. Kindly avoid it's further use. You may use the measures which I mentioned earlier if needed. They are much safer alternatives.
There is no need for any medications at present. The side effects will improve over 1-2 days. Ensure regular feeds.
