Question: Hii doctor..my cycle got delayed by 12 days.
I took pregnancy test thrice..all of them were negative..please prescribe a medicine so that i can have my cycle regular

Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
As your pregnancy test is negative even after 12 days of missed periods , hence you can opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones.
You may take :-
TAB MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE 10mg twice a day for next 5 days and then you should expect your withdrawal bleed within next 5-7 days from the last dose.
You may get it prescribed by your physician as its not an OTC.

The urine pregnancy test is sensitive after 8 days post missed periods date and if it is negative as on 9th day onwarrds then you are not pregnant at all. However the best way to confirm further would be a serum beta hcg test which measures hcg levels and if the levels are less than 5ng/dl then you are not pregnant at all.
Also there are no side effects of the medicine and its popularly available with the brand name of MEPRATE.
