Brief Answer:
Dyspepsia - further evaluation and/or trial of antacid/antifoaming agent

Detailed Answer:
Hey Mr XXXX
thank you for posting query.

one word for your current presentation is "dyspepsia".
since your age<37 and you have not mentioned any alarming symptoms (bleeding, wright loss);
you may opt any one option from following:
1. visit treating physician/gastroenterologist and get a prescription for H.pylori stool antigen test OR Urea breath test to detect H.pylori
2. A trial of pantoprazole tablets before meal and simethicone chewing tablets after meal ; for 2 to 4 weeks

further advice:
meanwhile:
- include yogurt in your diet
- you may avoid swallowing air by keeping lips zipped while chewing and swallowing food
- eat your last mean 3 hours before going to bed
- Avoid spicy food, oil rich food,
- No smoking and NO alcohol/no cold drinks and NO junk food
- fill 2/3rd of stomach and keep 1/3rd empty
- try to avoid drinking water at the end of a meal.

if any further questions, feel free to ask.
hope to answer your query.
regards,
Dr Malik

post which the doctor has recommended following
1.Vsl#3
2. Nexpro 40
3. stop Lentils (plant protein ) and move to animal protein

hence before I start this medication, I wanted a second opinion.

Brief Answer:
you may follow adivse of your treating physician

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX.

thanks for getting back to me.

i noted the prescription of your treating physician and i second to him.

vsl#3 is a probiotic medication and Nexpro 40 is used to combat dyspepsia and excessive acid in the stomach.

you may start the medications and avoid lentils as some of them are difficult to digest and maybe causing dyspeptic symptoms.
instead, you may ingest animal protein as advised by your treating physician.
