Question: Hi! I started having itchy red pimples on my arm and armpit, and I thought at first they were mosquito bites. Then they started appearing closer together, and there were LOTS of them...so I thought maybe I had ringworm again (I have a cat, so I get this from time to time). Then tonight, I realized that all the pimples were in long straight lines. They start at my armpits and go halfway down my side. the pimples start small, and really itchy, then they burst with a clear liquid and get bigger. I tried putting triamcinolone acetonide cream on them, but I think it made it worse. It has been approximately 7-10 days since I saw the first few of the pimples. I am unable to get to my doctor for a few more days.


I have had chicken pox before, and a mild case of shingles, but these didn't burn...just really itchy.

my right armpit and chest area is much worse than my left side. I am starting to see the same pimples on my right upper thigh too. I work in a nursery/daycare, so I need to figure out if this is contagious or not.


will scratching or physical contact spread this rash?

when the pimples first appear, and when they burst the first time, they are bright red. The second time they burst, they turn a dark, purple-red and scab.
