Suggest Remedies For Low Energy And Panic Attacks After Stopping Venlor XR

Question: Hi This is XXXX, I've been taking anti depressants (venlor xr 75) for last 6 month, and stopped taking them from last two month.
Now again im feeling very low and feel like no energy, feel tired always, sometimes get panic attacks also.
is it ok if i start the medicine again, i still have the left medicines. will i feel better if start to take them again? please let me know.
Also is this a relapse symptom?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts

You have stopped taking drugs since last two months and now you have symptoms like feeling low, reduced energy, tiredness, panic attacks etc. These symptoms are symptoms of depression most probably and are occurring due to relapse of symptoms.

If you have medicines left then you can start taking the medicines as per your prescribed doses again. Start with low dose like 37.5 mg Venlafaxine and increase the dose to 75 after about 10 days. This will help in improvement of symptoms.

If possible visit your doctor again and consult about your symptoms.

I usually prefer Stalopam for my patients. Start with low dose 5 mg for 10 days and increase the dose to 10 mg after 10 days. The drugs usually start showing effects in about 4 weeks so no need to worry.

Please don't think of stopping drugs before finishing your treatment. This will result in repetitive relapse of symptoms. So try to take your medicines regularly and you will remain symptoms free for long.

Take your medicines regularly and symptoms will not relapse again. Improve your day to day routine. Exercise daily and take diets rich in proteins and complex carbs. This will help in good response of medicines. Take Omega 3 Fatty Acid and Vitamin B12 supplements regularly.

And will i have fatigue issues when i start taking stalopam?

Also i was curious to know that if depression is mental health problem, then why do we feel tired and low with energy, what is the cause for fatigue during the relapse of depression?

The drug should be continued for at least 3-6 months. The therapy for that duration will help to treat your depression.

No the fatigue issues will improve after starting the drug.

Depression is a mental health problem. Various theories suggest that deficient serotonergic, noradrenergic neurotransmissions cause symptoms like fatigue, tiredness, poor focus, poor concentration etc symptoms. The drugs used for treatment improve these neurotransmissions and thus reduce the symptoms. I hope this helps you in understanding.

Hi Sir,

Since 3 day I'm having panic attacks, I took Stalopam first day, but did not continue,
yesterday again I had panic, it was quite bad, I just keep thinking about that only since then and cant get off that thought in my mind, and there is little palpitation also. today I took Venlor xr 37.5mg.
Please help.

Psychotropic drugs take time to show their full effects. I will advise you to take the drug regularly to get full effects of the drug. Don't stop the drug abruptly.

The palpitations, anxiety, restlessness will decrease once the drug starts to act.

The feelings that heart will stop acting, scary feeling etc are nothing but anticipatory anxiety. The heart will not fail. No need to worry. This fear is due to anxiety only. Just remain relaxed and continue to take drugs regularly.

Today I already taken venlor xr 37.5mg in the morning and one in the afternoon,
so now can I take venlor xr 37.5mg and Etilaam .25mg at night? is it ok?

You have already taking 75 mg dose and don't take 37.5 mg Vanlafaxine again in night. You can take Etilaam 0.25 mg and this will help in sleep as well as reduce anxiety.

Continue to take 75 mg Venlafaxine for at least 2 weeks and then you can increase the dose.
