Hello,
Women who are in perimenopausal phase and in menopausal phase experience changes in the hormones, especially estrogen and it can affect the
central nervous system. Yes, it can cause you such symptoms. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12 or you can also take supplements. It can also cause symptoms like mood changes, fainting attacks, dizziness, hot flashes and sleep problems, etc. Hormone changes can make you feel anxious, irritable, and tired. Sex drive might change, too.
Taking
calcium supplements or food rich in calcium will help bones stay strong. You may also experience sensations like
paresthesia, that causes tingling, numbness. Get clinically examined by a
neurologist and get blood tests and imaging tests done. Get treated at the earliest. Left untreated nerve issues may lead to complications like
formication, an unpleasant sensation which feels as if insects are crawling on or under your skin. Stay away from addictions if any and get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
