Question: My husband has a problem with sinus drainage for 8 or more years. His nose runs constantly. It is unbelievable that there can be that much drainage. We go thru several boxes of tissue every week. It is non stop. He has gone to two different allergy doctors. Tests say that he is only allergic to dust mites. This is making his life miserable. Can you help ? What kind of specialist does he need to see ?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
rhinorrhea

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you husband has such problems with ruinny nose. It sounds like he has what is called perennial rhinorrhea. This is a runny nose that lasts all year long and not associated with allergies. You have tried allergists and they have failed so you are wanting another option. I would recommend an ENT doctor. They maybe able to find a cause of the runny nose. I would also recommend asking to try a nasal spray called atrovent. This nasal spray is design specifically stop runny nose. It is very effective in decreasing nasal drainage.

In summary
1. perennial rhinorrhea
2. Try Atrovent nasal spray
3. See ENT
