Question: I'm 48 yr old female. I have been feeling dizzy with pressure in my head. My right ear is plugged. I feel nauseated at times. It started this morning after sleeping about 2 hours last night. I do have insomnia but I take a sleeping aid prescribed by dr. I have never felt like this before and I'm scared.

Hello and welcome,

Given that you have a plugged up feeling right ear, it is possible that your dizziness is related to this. And the nausea is likely from the dizziness.

If the pressure feels like it is in the sinuses (front of forehead over eyebrows or in center of forehead, or in your cheeks near your nose), then taking a decongestant and using a corticosteroid nasal spray such as Flonase (sold over the counter) will help, but the Flonase may take a few days to work well.

However, if the pressure in your head is severe, or if it isn't in the sinus areas, it would be wise to go in to be seen tonight.

Please let me know if I can provide further information.
