Question: Hey doctor,

I am a 20 year old male and have been having this pain under my left rib cage it is kind of a dull type of ache and occasionally there is an itchy feeling in the inside of my ribs I have attached an image of where exactly it is . I have had it on and off for the last 2 months and it seemed to come on a couple of weeks after my gastroscopy 2 months ago which I had because of my acid reflux issues which have seemed to have died down. I now also have a colonoscopy scheduled for this monday just to rule out anything bad as the pain sits right under the left side of my rib cage and could be due to my colon from what I have been told? Do you have any ideas on what this could be and could this colonoscopy make things even worse I am on the day before at the moment doing the liquid prep and I feel sick. All the tests I have done have come up clear including the gastroscopy I mentioned, blood tests, urine tests, stool test and now the colonoscopy coming up which will probably show nothing. Could this pain be because of the gastrosocpy I had maybe?

Sorry I have attached the image now, another issue though one of the prep tablets that I had it kind of feels like its stuck on the right side of my throat but I am unsure if it is or not. I can still breath and swallow properly and I have been drinking a lot of fluids I have attached the image where it feels like there a something there kind of feels like an ache, would this be something I should worry about since I can still breath fine should I just keep drinking fluids? I can't eat anything solid yet because of the colonoscopy it just kind of hurts there a little when I use a low pitch voice.Another thing a little un related I have noticed that my tongue seems to be completely white almost is this normal or is it something I should see a doctor or dentist about I have attached an image of what it looks like as well thanks.

It was one of the laxative tablets that I had to take for the colonoscopy tomorrow, but I managed to get it un stuck with water. One thing though assuming the colonoscopy goes all well how long does it usually take to recover from the procedure and is there usually pain afterwards?

How long does it take regain the lost bacteria in the colon and how long until I expect a bowel movement after the procedure? Would it be worth taking a probiotic and if so what type?

Ok so in terms of post-colonoscopy mainly having natural foods like yogurt with probiotics is all that is needed? I just completed the colonoscopy and it came up all normal with no further testing required.

I do have a bit of health anxiety and sometimes my job can be a little stressful in the environment I work in as I work in live music as a video producer. I do always seem to feel hyped up as well and there is a lot of adrenaline that goes through me when I get excited which is a lot ahah is that bad thing? What exactly is an ECG I have never done one before is it worth doing at my age and in my situation?

Can an ECG test be completed through a GP as well and is it painful or anything? My pain isn't in my chest but much lower than that around the rib area. Also with my colonoscopy as well is it normal that I haven't passed any gas yet following the procedure and when can I expect to have a bowel movement again?
