Question: I've had left knee problems for about 5 years now. I've finally had a left knee scope for chrondromalacia patella. Once my old surgeon went in they removed a rather lage plica band and found early stages of arithritis, cleaned up the inflammation. However, even after 8.5 months after the surgery I still experience knee pain(granted not as bad as before). Will I eventually need another scope? Should it just be monitored?

Brief Answer:
Start doing quadriceps exercises regularly

Detailed Answer:
Hi , I am Dr Gopal Goel, Orthopedic Surgeon.
You have Chondromalacia Patella , that is a early stage of Osteoarthrosis.
The treatment of this condition primarily consists of regular quadriceps strengthening exercises to reduce the load on knee joint.Second arthroscopy will not help .
You can also try PRP( Platelet Rich Plasma) injections in the knee joint- they may help in healing of early arthritis.
I hope to have answered your question. Please feel free to ask any further question.
