Suggest Remedies For Persistent Pain In Esophagus

Possible esophagitis
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you are having pain from the esophagus. This sounds like you have esophagitis. This could be caused by your alendronate and your Meloxicam. It can frequently cause erosions in the esophagus. I would recommend stopping these medications immediately. Other things to do to prevent further irritation to the esophagus is elevated the head of the bed by placing a XXXXXXX under the headboard. This little bit of incline helps keep acid down in the stomach while sleeping and prevents reflux. Also reduce eating late at night, reduce your weight if you are overweight and do not over eat.
You could also add maalox mylanta or tums to aid in pain relief. You are already on omeprazole which helps reduce stomach acid and heart burn
If these measures don't help then I would recommend seeing your medical provider. You may want to see them anyway to discuss the stopping of your alendronate and the meloxicam.
In summary
1. Stop both Alendronate and Meloxicam
2. Elevated Head of bed with a XXXXXXX
3. Loss weight if over weight
4. Do not over eat
5. Do not eat late at night
6. Add antacid
7. See your medical provider
