Suggest Remedies For Persistent Pain In Right Ankle
Question: For around 3 months now, I have a little pain around ankle area of the right leg. When I normally walk, the pain is not there. When I stand on toe & stretch the ankle area, there is little pain. I play badminton & had stopped playing for one month+ for it to get completely recuperated. I still feel little pain when completely stretched, though it is not obstructing normal movement, playing badminton, etc.
I had tried putting the leg in warm water for couple of days.
Is there anything else you would suggest?

Brief Answer:
anti inflammatory medication, observe, X ray
Detailed Answer:
Hello, greetings!
Thanks for posting your query on hcm.
I have gone through your query.
Did you suffer any trauma / fall before the pain started?
It looks like you are suffering from a tendon injury, which typically takes around 12 weeks to heal completely.
You can take an over the counter anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen 400 mg twice a day for a period of 5 days.
You may apply ice packs as well.
If the pain doesn't subside in a week, you may visit an orthopaedician for physical examination and get an ankle joint X ray done.
If you have any further doubts/ clarifications, you may get back to me.

Dr. Sonia
