Suggest Remedies For Pigmentation

Seems lichen planus pigmentosus , hydroxychloroquine & topical steroids
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcare magic
I have gone through your complaints and according to me you are having lichen planus pigmentosus.
I would recommend you to upload your pictures so that I can confirm the diagnosis as I am unable to see your photos.
Lichen planus pigmentosus is a chronic disease of the skin which is very resistant to treatment. In most of the cases the pigmentation can't be cleared completely and their is only partial improvement with medicines.
The exact cause of this disease is not known but it is associated with immune dysfunction.
In cases that are progressive I recommend my patients to take tablet hydroxychlroquine 200 mg twice daily for 4-6 months along with topical steroid like mometasone cream on the affected areas once daily.
This treatment needs to be taken under direct supervision of a dermatologist as constant monitoring is required.
Along with this I advise them to use sunscreen lotion on the sun exposed areas during the day time.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to clarify any further doubts.
Regards
Dr Asmeet

Thanks for the diagnosis. I just attached my pics shows the pigmentation areas.
can you clarify whether my hypothyroid causing this pigmentation? my major concern is this disease is progressive and spreading. please suggest the best way to stop its progression.
Hypothyroidism not causingi it, need oral medication to stop progression
Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs.
Your hypothyroidism is not causing this disease.
To prevent the progression of the disease I recommend my patients to take oral medication: either hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice daily or oral steroid like tablet prednisolone 1 mg per kg body weight on 2 consecutive days in a week for atleast 3-4 months.
Both the medicines need to be taken under the supervision of a dermatologist with regular follow ups.
Apart from this patient needs to use sunscreen during the day time and topical steroid like mometasone at night.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
regards

Is it ok to take these pills while taking thyroxin tablets?
Also, I had a history of fungal effect on my face. Do you see any such symptoms or signs now from my pics i attached?
Do you suggest any chemical pealing or laser treatment to lighten the current pigmented skin areas while taking these steroid tablets?
Can take these pills along with thyroxine, peels & laser not effective
Detailed Answer:
Yes you can take these pills while on thyroxine.
From the pictures you have attached I can't see any signs of fungal infection.
You can take chemical peels and laser treatment sessions while taking these steroid tablets but they are not very effective in the pigmentation of lichen planus pigmentosus.
