Suggest Remedies For Severe Cough

Question: I have had a very bad cough for three days now, to the point of gagging and dizziness. I have done breathing treatments, mucinex dm, robitusin cough relief, and using a cool most humidifier. I am hoarse now, throat gets sore and my back is getting sore from coughing. I can't sleep because of the coughing. What do u recommend?

By your history and description, possibility of severe upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) is more.
And most common cause for this is streptococcal infection.
So better to start broad spectrum antibiotic like levofloxacin or azithromycin.
Also take antihistamine and anti inflammatory drugs.
Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid hard to chew food.
Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.

Am i contagious? I have not had any fever that i am aware of, although i was sweating pretty bad last night in bed .
