Suggest Remedies For Severe Nerve Pain In The Lower Legs

Question: Hi, at the moment, my left arm or wrist area keeps spamming. Last night, I felt severe nerve pain in my lower legs, where I wanted to scream, I had to use the bathroom, and it was difficult to walk because my legs began to spasm out of control and I fell to the floor when my legs gave out. The day before, my legs spasmed while I was walking down the stairs in the morning and I fell to the bottom of the stairs hard and I was bruised. I have a history of three TIA's but now take Aggrenox twice a day. I have a blood clotting disorder. I have a bicuspid aortic valve. I recently moved and my new PCP doesn't listen and I'm exhausted trying to advocate for myself.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Judging from your description your symptoms are not likely to be due to your clotting disorder. Apart from being protected by Aggrenox, the manifestations of stroke are not like the ones you describe, other causes have to be searched.

I understand that it is difficult if your PCP doesn't collaborate, that is because there are tests which need to be prescribed to search for the cause. The most common cause for muscle spasms are metabolic, due to electrolyte or hormonal changes. So the initial step would be in having some routine blood tests. Since the spasms are of new onset I would say that if the PCP doesn't listen it would be justified in checking at the ER where such routine tests such as blood count, glucose level, liver and kidney function, and particularly electrolyte panel can be done.

I remain at your disposal for further questions.
